Druid Heights’ Clean Up Efforts Doesn’t Go Unnoticed

Yesterday over 100 people consisting of the Druid Heights CDC staff, Youth Works workers and volunteers came together in an effort to clean up the Druid Heights community. We were split up into groups and deployed like troops. You couldn’t open your eyes without seeing one of our bright yellow shirts labeled “Druid Heights CDC Staff” and the sounds of brooms and shovels scratching the pavement. It was a huge success and even WJZ 13 caught up with the crew. We would like to give a special THANK YOU to The Garden Community Church. To more pictures from this wonderful day click here!

Luxury Gateway Brownstones Development vacant buildings existing between the 1800 – 2200 blocks of McCulloh Street and Druid Hill Avenues, the main entry and exit through fares for the neighborhood. Franklin Entrepreneurial & Apprenticeship Center, a 10,000 sq. ft joint project between Druid Heights CDC & St. Martin Church will comprise of classrooms, computer lab, office space, a conference room, two multipurpose rooms, commercial kitchen for culinary training program, café, meditation garden and rooftop deck and greenhouse. The entrepreneurial and apprenticeship training programs will target youth and unskilled individuals in building trades and culinary arts to encourage self –empowerment and development.
